It's the morning of Friday, June 17th. We opted to take
another walking tour.
But first, we took advantage of the hotel's free high speed internet
connection to check our e-mails, bank accounts, etc.
It was a bit cloudy and cool that morning but the sun soon came
out and waremed up the atmosphere.

Left: The Finns seem to have an obsession with older
American cars. We saw many Cadillacs, Thunderbirds,
etc., all fixed up and shiny, during our visit of
Finland. I kick myself for not taking more photos of the
jalopies -- grrrr!!
Right: Kuopio city hall. |

The two photos at left are of a
Finnish tradition as a part of a batchelor party. The
groom-to-be is humiliated (good naturedly, of course) in
public. Too bad things happened so quickly we didn't get
a chance to take a frontal picture. Below is another
"hazing" batchelor party taken from the
double-decker bus at bottom left. The groom-to-be is the guy
with a Viking helmet.

The next day, June 19th, a Sunday, we left Kuopio and took a
train to Oulu, our next stop. |
